Mission Marking

This operational capability of the Flightcell DZMx has been designed to meet the needs of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), however it could be used for any type of helicopter or fixed wing mission.

At various stages of a mission the crew execute a long press of the MARK button on the DZMx keypad and it brings up four pre-defined options on the display screen. The pilot or crew push one of four coloured buttons on the keypad that corresponds with the current stage of the mission (e.g. picked up patient) and there is also the option to enter a job number. The status of the mission and location information is reported to the operations center.

This capability is optional and it is enabled in the DZMx configuration. The default marking capability is still the traditional GPS position that can be associated with a message and is known as a Point of Interest (POI).

The DZMx mission marking is available from firmware version 3.5 onward. Contact your tracking provider to makes sure they support this capability.
